Mat-Su Sea Hawkers is Mat-Su's official booster club of the Seattle Seahawks and is a nonprofit charity established to support Seattle Seahawks Community Outreach efforts in Alaska, and Mat-Su Youth Sports, Leadership, and local charity activities. Mat-Su Sea Hawkers serves as a driving force providing participation assistance, education and volunteerism. Their outreach champions community betterment and promotes active lifestyles and easily accessible opportunities for developing youth, health, wellness and leadership skills

Stephanie and Becky will share information with us regarding two programs Mat-Su COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disasters) : Bringing community organizations, local businesses, and government agencies together to effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters, either natural or man-made. Mat-Su Project Homeless Connect: This one day event provided people experiencing homelessness with access to health, wellness and dental screenings, legal services, employment assistance, clothing, food toiletries and more.

Mat-Su CrimeStoppers, Inc., is a non-profit charitable organization recognized under the IRC Section 501(c)(3). All contributions qualify for deduction as a charitable contribution on your income tax return pursuant to IRC Section 170. Crime Stoppers encourages members of the community to assist local law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime by overcoming the two key elements that inhibit community involvement: fear and apathy. Crime Stoppers provides a telephone number and Web Tips to encourage citizens in the community to volunteer vital information helpful to law enforcement agencies to fight against crime. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward if the information given leads to an arrest or grand jury indictment of a felony offender. Crime Stoppers relies on volunteer Directors and tax deductible contributions from the public in order to operate the administration of the program. |

Lions Clubs International is an international non-political service organization established originally in 1917 in Chicago, Illinois, by Melvin Jones. It is now headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois. Across the globe, Lions are rolling up their sleeves nad taking action. With over 1/4 million members, they are the largest service organization in the world. They are as dedicate dto helping those in need today as they were over 100 years ago. |

Wasilla Youth Soccer is actively implementing the Icelandic soccer model and currently collaborating with other local organizations to develop necessary infrastructure to impact the health of our community through systems change.

Whats happening with the Convention and Visitors Bureau

The Mat-Su Convention & Visitors Bureau's (Mat-Su CVB) mission is to promote the development of tourism in the Mat-Su Valley and to market this area to potential visitors from around the state, country and world. The Mat-Su CVB is the official destination marketing organization for the Mat-Su region including Wasilla, Talkeetna and Palmer. We work hard to promote and sell the Mat-Su region in Alaska as a remarkable destination for visitors, visiting friends and relatives, in-state travelers and business travelers. There are currently 300 members strong, and growing every day. |

Re-entry Fair

Kelly is a member of Mat-Su Reentry and the Mat-Su Opioid Task Force Coalition. She is currently a practicum student for the MSW program at UAA and this is her Capstone Project. As part of the Governor's Recidivism Reduction Plan, the Mat-Su Reentry Coalition works to ensure successful offender reentry in the Valley, to reduce recidivism, to enhance public safety and to assist in ensuring the appropriate and responsible use of cost savings realized by judicial reforms.
